Question 1: If I had to live my life over and over again, as in Nietzsche’s myth of eternal recurrence, then I would not change anything about my life. Though learning about Nietzsche’s myth of eternal recurrence has made me aware that such a phenomenon may be possible, I am still not directly aware of these other selves in the future, past, or other dimension, wherever they are. My other selves and I are unconscious of each other. I know this because I am obviously right now unconscious of them. If they live the same way I do, then they should be unconscious of each other and of me as well. If I unfortunately live a life full of pain and regrets, then when I live it again, I would not be aware of the previous time, so what does my current life matter to my next life? Thus, it seems to me that Nietzsche’s myth of eternal recurrence should have no effect on how I live my life.
Question 2: The major obstacle to my education is that I always feel like I have to know the concept behind everything. This desire proved to be a tremendous obstacle in physics because sometimes physics is supported purely by math. For example, even the greatest of physicists say that nobody understands quantum mechanics. However, the math behind it works, and it is correct in many ways. I cannot grasp something like that very well. I usually need a general concept to work with, and pure logic can prove sometimes difficult for me.
Question 3: The device I am most attached to is probably my mobile phone or laptop. With those devices, I can easily connect to a friend even from a long distance. In such a busy world, sometimes these devices are all we have to talk to a friend we would otherwise never be able to communicate with except by written letter. Similarly, my close knit group of friends are attached to their computers. We’re close in friendship, yet rather far apart in distance. That is one of the benefits of such devices. Another benefit these devices have to offer is a rising multiculturalism. It is now much easier to maintain a friendship from even another country. For example, I have friends from Scotland and Croatia. It is also much easier to research and learn about other cultures. I daresay that the rising level of social reform and tolerance is due to the rise of technology leading to multiculturalism.
The negative consequences of the rise of these devices are much more obvious, sometimes causing a social stigma to surround them. Technology can distract you from work. Technology can make you stationary and overweight or obese. Technology has caused current society to fragment, with some people not even knowing who their next door neighbors are. Even the film states that some technology is merely manipulation by placing limits of the human using it.
However, are these truly negative consequences of technology itself? Addiction can be controlled. Society is only fragmented because we can now form connections with other people far away. Everyone is a neighbor now, as communication technology has rendered distance nearly insignificant. As for the film, its wording is perhaps too strong. The word “manipulate” has a rather strong negative connotation to it. Are bad things happening to us because we often know nothing more than a limited user interface? We simply reap the benefits of what someone skilled in programming has created for us. Why worry about something you don’t know, unless you’re interested in it? After all, it was a previous film that stated that we truly know nothing.

Question 1
If I had to live my life over and over again as given, I would definitely change some things that I have done. My life is pretty boring I’d rather stay home then go out which makes me feel lonely at times. So If I had the opportunity to love my life again I’d change that about myself and be more outgoing and adventurous. Another thing that I would change is how focused and motivated I wasn’t in school I would do better in school. I was a “B” student throughout high school, but, living my life and going to school again I’d make sure to be an “A” student.
Question 2
An obstacle that I have to confront in my educational career is math. I have trouble with math so much not simple algebra, but, with pre-calculus I struggle and just memorizing all the formulas. Math is a limit that I have and I have to work on it because what I want to major in requires a lot of math. So instead of me avoiding it I’m going to work on it and not let it be so much of a limit anymore more of a strength of mine.
Question 3
The device that I have become so attached to or addicted to is my iphone. I am very attached to my iphone because it’s always with me and I can do almost anything I can do on a computer on it. Also having unlimited data makes it more addicting. I’m always checking it seeing what people are up to on twitter, Instagram, etc. there’s always something to do on that phone. If I ever forgot my phone I’d feel so empty and always have the urge to check it and get sad because I forgot it. I use my phone to help pass time and not be so bored. If I forgot it and had some extra time I’d definitely go back and get my phone.

1. If I was able to make changes then I would try to be more outgoing instead of thinking about all these what ifs. Also, I think i would try to be a more understanding person because I didn't really care about anything or anyone but myself in the past and I think I've caused a lot of pains and misunderstandings towards people that tried to help me. I think I would overall try to become a better person and someone that people would like.
2. I think the biggest obstacles I fear is the money going towards college and the fact that my priorities are a bit messed up right now. Also, thinking about the previous film we've seen in class, the fact that we can only hold five to seven ideas in our brains when there are billions of things that we probably don't know and also the varying subjects of ideas that could be easily lost because of our limit.
3. Since the advent of hyper technology, I have become addicted to my phone but mostly my computer. I'm addicted because these games provide an escape for me from reality where there are no rules or limitations and the results are limitless. My friends are attracted to PlayStation 4's, Nintendo DS's, and mostly computer games like myself. The pros is that there is endless information and lessons that can be learned from games and allow you to apply it in real life too. The cons are that you can get addicted and start losing responsibility and lose sight of what is really important.

1.If I had to relive my exact life infinitely, I would definitely make some changed to my lifestyle now that I know I’ll have to live it exactly the same way for the rest of eternity. I wouldn’t waste a minute of the day and make sure every moment is either productive or doing something fun and enjoyable. I would make sure I live a almost perfect life to ensure I live comfortably forever. I would make every decision based on the future, instead of living in the present because I know I’ll be able to live in the present infinite times again in the future.
2.Ironically, I would have to say that my biggest academic weakness is mathematics. I say ironically because my older brother is a math and physics major. I do appreciate and respect mathematics , I understand that it is the fundamental and foundation of our world. Math is like a universal language, a way of communicating with anyone in the world without any boundaries. Being skilled in math is incredibly beneficial because it is the base for plenty of other subjects like physics, chemistry and even philosophy.
3. Technology is not relatively new to my generation, so I don't really know any different. Although I can say that I’ve noticed a dramatic increase of attachment to technology today compared to 10 years ago. It is safe to say that almost every teenager uses an iPhone or Android. These smart phones provide us access to pretty much everything. Some of the most popular uses for the phone is to stay socially connected with others. Whether it be through calls, texts, facetime, or applications like Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Personally, my favorite is instagram. I like to see what my friends, family or favorite celebrity is up to. I do admit, I spend a lot more time glued to the screen than I really should be doing. The evolvement of the phone seems to be to our greatest advantage but could be deceiving. We participate within these applications like Facebook with intentions of staying connected with others but in some cases, distances us from the ones around us. For example, we’ve come to the habit of simply sending a loved one a happy birthday wish via text message instead of stopping by and personally wishing them a happy birthday. Technology is perhaps the most brilliant inventions to our society but should be used within certain measures.

1. If I had to repeat my life over and over again, I would only change one thing. I would stop stalling and start accumulating money so that knowing I will repeat life I will always be financially stable. This only applies if the current life I’m living under the influence of eternal recurrence would be classified as a first life and thus I set what would repeat. However, if the current life that I’m living is a recurrence of a previous life, then I cannot change it because the change would be scripted and not necessarily a change.
2. I think the biggest obstacle in my educational career is the connection between learning and fun. I tend to do more poorly in subjects that I don’t take interest in, but then again that happens to everyone. If I take interest in something, even if it is completely useless and will not help me in the future whatsoever, I will put my full energy towards learning that one thing. I feel like school traps us to learn through force and not through fun. It is just as we discussed the first week of class I believe, where we talked about the ancient philosophers actually wanted to go to learn because they were searching for something. Somewhere along the line, academics threw away the “fun” and replaced it with “force” which is why everywhere now pretty much asks for education level over how much a person enjoys something.
3. Since the advent of hyper technology, I’ve been most addicted to my computer above all other electronics that I use. The reason being is that I can learn whatever I want from in front of this screen and it keeps me connected with my friends easier because they live in Covina while I live in Pomona. If it wasn’t for society’s logic of requiring a paper from some college in order to get into certain jobs/ get paid more than other people, I probably wouldn’t even be attending school. I believe my friends are also connected mostly to their computers above their other electronics. If we’re not at school gathering in person, we’re gathering digitally through Skype. Some pros to the computer is the fact that you can learn far more than what school can ever teach you. It keeps you connected to people who live too far from you or even for the people close to you, like your friends; it makes it so that you don’t have to burn money on gas just to chat with them. The cons to the computer is that to do most things with one you need internet and paying for internet to an extent is almost like paying for gas but can be not as expensive. It can also isolate a person so that they refuse to go outside because they would have no reason to go outside if they could get everything they needed (minus physical human contact) from the safety of their own homes.

1) I can’t really say I would, or even could, change anything. Considering the eternal recurrence theory, odds are I have already lived my life. Since I have already lived my life, the path it has to go down is already set, unchangeable. If this is true, then anything I do would be considered as me just going through the motions, repeating everything I already did. This makes it so that I can’t actually change anything in my life, because how can it be considered change if it was already predetermined to happen. Under these circumstances any “changes” you make to your life are only considered as such by yourself and those that know you. To put this into perspective, you are told that you are going to be bound by eternal recurrence. Being told this in any given life means that you were told as such in the first iteration of your life. When told this you thought about changes to make and then acted out whatever decisions you made knowing that these choices would be permanent and ever-lasting, that they would be repeated ad infinitum. In your subsequent lives when told that you will experience eternal recurrence, you have the same thoughts that you had in your first life. This means that any thoughts you have on change are not actually to change your life, but instead are thoughts needed to keep your life going the exact same way it has been and will have to go for eternity.
2) In my educational career, the biggest obstacle I encounter is my lack of what would probably called drive or enthusiasm. This is because I have a very high tendency to only try on something that interests me. If there is a subject or activity that I don’t have interest in, I won’t put forth very much, if any effort into it. The vice versa to this is also actually very true. I put forth a multitude of effort into something that does interest me. This causes me to have a restricted knowledge base.
3) The technological device I have become the most attached to is my computer. The reason I have become so attached to it is that using it is the easiest way to communicate with friends, look things up, and get various entertainment. The computer is also the device my friends are most attached to, very much so for the same reasons. The computer is a device that can access pretty much all of the information currently held throughout the world. It can be used for games, for work, or for school, or just to talk to people. There aren’t very many downsides to it. The most common misconception of something that is probably called a downside is that it’s addictive. This however isn’t a downside of the device itself, but is rather a problem with the user of the device.

Film Test 765 Question 1 I do not want to make any changes to my life because if it is true that I live my life over and over again doing the same actions, the decision that I made now would have been made already in my past life. The change that I think that I am making is not a new decision but a destined decision that had to be made. At the end, there will be no changes to my life regardless of me making a change or not. Question 2 I have problem memorizing words for some reason. This might be the reason why I am better at mathematics rather than languages. When it comes to understanding concepts of certain objects like how it works, it is easy for me to understand and apply it to other objects, but if someone told me to explain it to them or write it down how the concept works, I cannot say I will be able to make the other understand as well as I understand it. This application goes vice versa as well; I may not understand if someone else tries to explain something to me unless I see how it works or experience it myself. Question 3 At one point, I was addicted to my phone. In particular, I was addicted to the games in my phone. At this time, I was bullied and I had no friends to spend time with, so I spent long hours on my phone. The positive aspect of being connected to my phone was that I did not feel left out or lonely. I would be inside my own cyber world where I do not have to deal with other people and judgments they gave me. However, after I made friends, I have noticed how bad it was not for me to connect with others. My friends, being influenced by me, have become addicted to their phones as well and when I got out from my addiction, I have realized how much we were not talking and not having any interaction. I got them out of the addiction as well and it was good to connect person to person rather than phone to phone sites.google.com/site/mtsacfreshmanjp/home/introduction-to-philosophy

Film Response #2 Code: 765
1: If I had to live my life over and over again I would change the majority of the moments where I held back from doing what I wanted. Now I do not mean to say that I regret those moments because I don;t but I wouldn't mind if I had decided to do those things sooner than later. I would be more bold with certain actions and at a younger age, care less about what others thought.
2: The biggest obstacles that I confront in my educational career is my attention span for classes and the fear of not being able to give professors what they want to hear and expect in their classes. I think the only real reason why I stress in school is because I get too focused on trying to play at each individual professor's game versus actually retaining the information given to me. At least that is how I feel with the majority of my General Ed. classes.
3: The two tech. devices I have become the most attached to would be my phone and my windows surface 3. They are great devices that allow you to communicate to family and friends that you would probably never be able to talk to if you didnt have these devices. I am attached to my phone in case of emergencies, my 93 year old grandparents live with my family and I and having my phone allows me to make sure I can be there in case of an emergency. Having these devices makes life easier with the quickness and ease they bring to communicating with others. As great as these devices are, I also believe that they are only good in moderation. Sometimes we get too focused on what is on our screens versus what life holds right in front of us. When I am on my phone too much, I do my best to just leave it be and remember to make in person connections with people who are around me.

Film#2 Code: 765 1. If I had to live my life over and over again I would change how hard I tried in high school. I didn’t take it to seriously and now I am where I am. If I made better efforts in my classes, I would’ve received some sort of scholarship for college. It would’ve been nice to go to a four-year college, but I ended up at Mt.Sac for a reason. Other then that I wouldn’t change anything and would be happy to live my life over again. 2. My biggest obstacle in my educational career would be math. I have had issues with math since eighth grade. It just gets confusing because the higher up you go they always change the ways you solve the problem. Math is my weakness but I will do my best to understand the material and use my resources around me. 3. The technogical device I am most addicted to would be my Xbox. You can play whatever game you want and it makes you feel like you are in a new world like GTA for example. I can hop on the Xbox and drive fast speeds, fly helicopters, and planes and it is just a button away. You can also connect with other people from all over the world, which is pretty cool. I can hop on Xbox and play with a bunch of local friends or it could be someone from Britan. The problem with games though is it can cause someone to distant them selves and just want to play in that “reality”. I guess I could say my friends are most addicted to their phones and computers. Its pretty usual though for people to always be using their phone or laptop. For example if you have a smart phone you can look anything up on Google right then and there and it doesn’t matter if you are sitting at restaurant. sites.google.com/site/ryansworkhistory/

Film test #2 Code: 765 1. I’ve experienced a lot of tragedy in my life, however, one that stays engraved in my mind is one that started at a young age, for the majority of teenagers, hanging out with friends, deciding what college they will attend, and discovering themselves, yet I found myself a young parent taking care of my ill father whom ended up dying at a young age. Reliving that moment in my life over and over would be such anguish, and I know most people would agree that that watching a parent pass isn’t very soothing, though I know death is something someone can never escape, I would’ve liked to be more mentally equipped with such devastation, but much like being a parent for the first time is one ever ready? 2. I tend to be much on the quiet side, in fears that I will saying something foolish and be looked at as a stupid person. Without much confidence I feel that it greatly inhibits my educational understanding of many different subjects, because I’m not fond looking dumb. I want to be perceived as an intelligent human being that has an abundance of knowledge spewing out of my mouth, much like vomit would. I would describe myself as an open minded person that is interested in hearing different perspectives in many different subjects. I realize my limitations are endless and if I could just embrace the fact that I am as stupid as everyone else on this planet, I feel I would be much comfortable with stupidity, easier said than done, for sure. 3. Living in an era where technology runs just about every aspect of our lives, the device I find myself most attracted to would be my phone. My phone lets me open up a world of anything any everything I could ever want to know, with sites like Facebook and Instagram sucking like majority of my time away. Which at times I’m baffled at why I would care so much what other people are doing, what their eating, and where they’re going, but I do. I honestly have no Idea why, but .I do know that I’m not exactly excited I have such an attachment to my phone and at times I wish it would just go away, but what would I do then? Perhaps I’m in denial and I actually do enjoy it, but just wish at times, it wasn’t such a big part of my life. I find it quite disturbing to see so many people attached to their smartphones, I feel were becoming a society that's losing the ability to socialize in person would rather socialize through a device. sites.google.com/site/birdhaus00/

(1) If I had to live over and over again, the things I would change would be how I was not involved in my early years of high school. I would have joined certain sports and clubs a lot sooner than I had in my current life. I also would have changed my style sooner and have a different mind set about how I saw the world. (2) The biggest obstacles that I confront in my educational career are the distractions of the technology we have now, such as gaming devices, computers, cell phones, etc. I would procrastinate on doing work or studying to relish in the world of social media or escape reality in a game one can get lost in. Overall, the distractions is what limits my expansion of understanding different ideas and subjects. (3) The device I am most attached to would be my iPhone, same goes for the majority of my friends. The perks of my iPhone is the various sources of news and media at my fingertips. It is basically an extension of myself, if you look through my phone, you will see my virtual world that I have created for myself. The cons of this device, however, is the time it takes from spending personal quality time with others. 765 sites.google.com/site/ataylor4130/

Week 2 Film Questions 765 Question 1 If I found that I would have to re-live my life again and again with nothing new, I would feel rather depressed. It is like watching the same movie over and over again or listening to a song on repeat forever. I would not change much, if not anything at all. Why would I? By changing the way I live, I would almost be admitting that I am not currently living life as I want to which is simply not the case. If my life were repeated endlessly, then it would be the life I am living right now without alteration. However, I would greatly dislike doing so, whether I was aware of it or not. Question 2 My biggest obstacles when it comes to education can easily be identified as overly expensive and overly redundant work I am forced to complete. A limiting factor, for me, is when I am taught what I already know or when I am taught below my intellectual level. This is understandable and necessary for group teaching, however, it wastes so much time for some people who have already learned the material. Ideally, one on one teaching would be best for all. Question 3 The technology I use most would be my phone by a long shot. Why? It is the most convenient and useful. Fitting in my pocket, it is available to me at almost all times. Normally I use it to communicate with others in a variety of ways. When not communicating with it, I use it too keep me busy or entertained when I have down time. I would say smart phones are the most "addicting" form of technology to my friends and I. Television and/or laptops or desktops are probably next on the list of "most used technology." A pro is that technology makes many things much more simple and convenient. Cons could consist of anti-social behavior and/or large "wastes" of time. sites.google.com/site/tuckerhartwig/

765 1.) Of I was told that I will be living this exact same life over and over for eternity, I would be willing to change several events in my life. For one I would take the chance to go to Europe as a foreign exchange student for playing soccer. The reason I would take this chance to travel would be because I would get a new experience in a different culture by learning the way they live. This could've made a huge influence by learning a new way to live instead of living in the United States which isn't bad but to learn a new lifestyle would've been amazing. The downside if this action would be that I could lose some friends and also being away from my family.
2.) During my entire life I had trouble writing because the way my mind works. Writing is a well structure base study work but my mind is like a puzzle because every piece comes into place at a different time. I realized that anything that mostly involved sports I was able to grasp many concepts fairly easily. I understood the different concepts of different sports like nothing but when it came to academics I had trouble with them. Writing was always hard because the way we have to structure it can sometimes be useless or too strict.
3.) I have been attached to electronics a lot different kinds but the ones that I mostly attached to are my PS4 and galaxy S4. I enjoy playing online with others and also listening to my music at the same time from my phone. The pros in these items are that I can relieve stress and just enjoy the time being. I get to listen to my money and other things like surfing the Web, Facebook, instagram, etc. The problem with this is the we close ourselves from others and don't pay attention to many other things going around.

765 Question #1: If I had to live my life over and over again, I would change the way I look at life, raise my daughter a little bit differently than how I'm doing right now, and change my relationships with certain people in my family. I would change these things not because they're not going good right now, but they could be better.
Question #2: The biggest obstacles I confront in my educational career is for the field I'm going into, I have to take somewhat a lot of math classes, and I'm quite horrible at math. Another obstacle I face is having to juggle work and caring for my child while trying to improve my life, so I can give her the life I never had.
Question #3: The devices I've become most attached to is my t.v. I love to watch t.v. shows in my spare time or play video games with my husband. The devices my friends are attached to are their phones. They're always on Facebook, Instagram, snapchat, things like that. I don't have much time for those things anymore. I''me always busy with work, school, and my daughter. The pros to these devices is that it gives you something fun to do in your spare time, but the cons are that some people get too attached and forget about the real world and their responsibilities
