Film Exam Questions #3
Code: 64247
1. The thought of having an infinite amount of universes that comprises everything we know is mind boggling. This thought alone can be very humbling in realizing our place in the universe. Humans are something special created by all the right circumstances, but the thought of a multiverse system existing that comprises all that is space and time is remarkable. It makes me believe that the universe is more grand and mysterious than I had ever imagined. This is something serious, something big and although it may seem like it does not affect us here on Earth, it actually may. Knowing that I am made up of atoms that could have potentially existed in other universes or in other places of our universe is amazing. How did the atoms that make us, or me, get here and what is their story? Thinking of what could have brought them here to create Earth, to create its special circumstances, to create life, to create humans and beyond is spectacular. Perhaps we are all linked together through these atoms and vibrations even through the multiverse system, having all originated from a specific source such as the Big Bang or another place from a different universe.
2. A deep understanding of chance and probability alters my philosophy of life with a rippling effect. With this mindset, I can learn to reason with certain outcomes of life and accept them for what they are. Not everyone will live the same life, but will instead experience their own version of life through the choices they make. Through the concept of quantum mechanics and probability, it's clear that chance is a very important factor of life. It is appropriate to believe that certain outcomes are the result of what happens to the person in their lifetime and how the person perseveres through this chance. For example, a person that seeks an opportunity and is dedicated throughout their search is more likely to find it than a person who does not. These same thoughts can be applied in my current stage of life. The more I dedicate myself to my goals, the probability of achieving my dreams increases and creates a possible chance of successfully getting there.
3. Relating to "Feynman's Flower", science can broaden my appreciation of life through the several scientific concepts that have survived endless scrutiny, and thus can be explained with better understanding. For example, the chance of life being found elsewhere in the universe or multiverse system is profound. For some, it is hard to believe that there is life outside of Earth, but that same probability and chance that occurred here can occur in the many billions of different star systems that are known to exist in this universe. Now, if that same idea is multiplied through the multiverse theory then the probability increase is enormous and with a chance actually being in reach. Life is beautiful, from the atoms that create molecules, the molecules that create cells and the building blocks of life, the cells that create intricate systems and tissues, the tissues that create organs and the organs that work together with other systems to create a human body. On that same note, the human body is something science has allowed me to appreciate much more because it can be taken for granted . With about 7 billion humans in the world, we seem pretty ordinary when we're amongst ourselves. For example, a person doesn't look at someone else in a city with as much amazement as if they were to notice something out of place such as a wild bear. Although we seem ordinary from the outside, we are still made from the same material that is found on Earth and share that in common with the other abundant life found here. We are made from the same stuff that ranges from minuscule atoms to tissue when compared to other living things, and this alone can create better appreciation if explained through scientific reasoning.
