1.despite my thoughts on neural theory being more believable and having more evidence, I prefer soul theory with some adjustments. I find it more intriguing. reason being is that though we are meant to believe that our "wonder tissue" is what were limited to the damage to it changes us but, who's to say that that's the true location of the soul and the soul leaves with the brain? the soul is more or less a higher being so when the brain is altered the soul would leave to escape damage right? 2.AI has always been changing the way we think making us both more ignorant of things and making us smarter. it exercises our mind trying to compete or learn with it or we rely on it and we become stupider.
3.I believe the AR (augmented reality) glasses will definitely change the way we behave the glasses give us so much information and will change the way we look at the society we live in

Week 7 Examination 98776888
1. I will agree neural theory because it is scientifically proven. Science explained why we feel no pain during the extraction of a wisdom tooth. It would sound a bit dumb if we say its soul theory, yes we are alive, but we feel things because of what our brains send to our body. 2. I do believe artificial intelligence will transform the way we view ourselves. It is a huge advancement in science and the world, we will be dependent on what it will create and come up with to better ourselves when injured especially. 3. A futuristic advancement that will change people’s behavior is artificial life. We as humans will be grateful there is a solution for those who need help in many aspects. We will be more open and willing to accept artificial life because it will be a new way of life.

Week 7 Film Questions 98776888 Question 1 I find soul theory rather interesting because it does deal with something that cannot be physically seen or described. The soul is such an interesting item that humans possess. Soul theory argues that there must be a soul in people because of their consciousness. This consciousness and ability to process identities certainly must be because of an inner soul that people have. Because this is one of the few areas that cannot be accounted for rationally, I find it very interesting and supporting of a higher calling people have. Question 2 Artificial intelligence definitely will, and already has, transformed how humans view themselves. It does this, partly, by changing the way that people interact with each other. People, People must present themselves in person to others but with Artificial Intelligence, people must present themselves virtually. This is normally in the form of social media but it could one day be in others too. People may have personal robots or forms of themselves that they will have to monitor. These two presentations of one’s self can differ dramatically and, therefore, change how people view themselves and others. Question 3 Technological devices of all sorts are already changing human behavior in many ways. For example, the ability to edit videos and photos allows people to present an augmented image of their experiences to others. A future device that could drastically change human behavior could be anything. Perhaps, there will be a device that allows people to read each others’ minds. This would change society in immense ways! It could structure world in which human interaction and contact is barely needed and /or minimized to an extreme. It could also lead to all kinds of privacy issues. Either way, this kind of society is already developing all around us whether it is for better or worse. sites.google.com/site/tuckerhartwig/home

Mirvat Mohamed: Week 7 Film Questions Code: 98776888 1. Generally speaking, I am more attracted to the soul theory because of the face that it is unknown. We don’t know how the soul theory ties in with the idea of feeling pain but I do believe that there will be some kind of explanation in the future. For now, however, if I really had to bet my money on either soul theory or neural theory, it would have to be neural theory because we have the hard evidence to prove its mechanism and how it works. The one thing that I disagree with in the neural theory is that it insinuates that we have no soul, which is completely false. The neural theory is simply a scientific explanation as to why some things work the way they do and soul theory seems to be more based off the idea of a spiritual and consciousness mechanism, both mechanisms we cannot really explain with science with our current knowledge. 2. Yes, I absolutely believe that artificial intelligence will change how humans view themselves. It already has, many people already view A.I. as something beyond human intelligence because technology can do things far beyond what a human can. I think this idea of A.I. will make humans feel more and more incapable as technology progresses. Our intelligence seems to have limits whereas artificial intelligence doesn’t seem to have this limit. 3. This one is a tough one to answer because there are so many devices that I believe will change human behavior in the future. The cell phone has already changed our behavior in that we don’t have to leave the comfort of our own home to do some research or to talk to someone. Cars have changed our behavior in that we can drive everywhere now, we don’t need to walk everywhere. It’s going to be a variety of other technological advances that will change human behavior, it’s already happening. sites.google.com/site/week7filmqs/

Week 7
98776888
Question 1: Are you more attracted to soul theory or neural theory? - I would have to say that I am equally attracted to the both of them. Although the neural theory has great evidence and proven facts, their are some things that I also agree with in the soul theory. Although the novacane mentioned in the video has no physical effects on the soul because the soul is not an actual physical item, it can if abused alter your way of thinking, acting and being. Pretty much effect your soul.
Question 2: Do you think artificial intelligence will transform how humans view themselves?
- I think that it is very likely that artificial intelligence will transform how humans view themselves. Already today it has become in our nature to always want the newest item for example the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Even though I have an iPhone 5 that works perfectly fine, I am being tempted to upgrade my phone everyday through advertisements and all of my friends having this item. It has become some what of a fad to have the newest technology. In the future with the Google glasses as an example, imagine their being a computer chip that is embedded in your arm that you can use as a personal computer/secretary. It would boast of benefits that will help make your life more convenient, I can easily see this as being a fad of the future.
Question 3: What future technological device will change human behavior in the future?
- Already today we begin to see more and more cameras being placed on street corners, buildings, drones, and shops. The internet can provide access to who ever has the knowledge and will to access these cameras and use them to their disposal. If the Government starts to build cameras everywhere to monitor crime and residents we would loose much of our freedom. It is not too far off to think this idea can be easily incorporated for our safety. That might lead to changing our deameanor and how we behave on a day to day basis.

Week 7
98776888
1. I would have to say that because of my religious background I am more attracted to the soul theory. I am a member of a faith based religion, so I have developed a way to come to peace with the fact that not every thing can be explained. Just how you can never know everything and when you understand that fact that you pretty much know nothing, you know just barely a little more.
2. Yes, today when traveling we see families with selfie sticks to take pictures that they can upload to social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Sharing your personal information and valued experiences, making them available online for everyone to view. Just as the video mentioned we are already slowly altering the way we live or maybe simply what we wear, to make sure that we send out a good image or look good for selfies that we upload to the world wide web. Kim Kardashian has contracted a team that photoshops her selfies before they are uploaded online so that she can always control her appearance and look her best.
3. Cell phones are being made today to be watches, in the near future possibly integrated in our reading glasses. I can already imagine a microchip that is implanted in you that can be used as a credit card. Solar panels are providing a way for us to obtain electricity through the beams of the sun. Hopefully we continue on that path to a more greener future, it would benefit us very much and help us with future evolution.

Week Seven Code: 98776888
1. I am more attracted to neural theory because it has more facts and reasons as why we might feel certain feelings in our body like pain.
2. I think artificial intelligence will not transform humans on how they view themselves, although I do think it will make them more dependent on these intelligent devices.
3. A future technological device that will change human behavior in the future would be smart houses that will do all the house work for the humans living there as if they had a robot maid, maybe flying cars, it would definitely transform people.

Week 7
98776888
1) because I have a religious background I am more for the soul theory. There are going to be things that just cant be explain and I came to realize that. I am at peace with the fact that not everything can be explained in this world. It kind of like what you said when you were talking about how we all really don’t know shit we think we know but we really don’t know everything about everything. When people understand that you cant know everything therefore we know nothing I think people would start going towards a soul theory.
2) yes they will. I mean look at the world we live in today with the selfie sticks to take picture to post them on all social media or how we post all kind of information about ourselves so that everyone can be up to date on our lives. The video mentioned we are already slowly altering the way we live. We always want to look our best in all the picture we take just so that other people can think we are living better than they are. They fact that we can all photoshops our pictures is a good example on the transformation.
3) hands down Cell phones. Cell phones are being made today to do all kind of things like have a 3D image when you take a picture, talk to people across the world, they are even made into watches where you can talk to someone from you wrist

Taylor Andruska Week #7 Code:98776888
#1: I believe that I am more attracted to the neural theory than I am attracted to the soul theory. The soul is an extremely complex thing to measure and there's very little evidence that we even have a soul. The neural theory is based entirely on things that we can see and that we have evidence for. Much like with the wisdom teeth, it all has to do with our brains and neurons.
#2: I absolutely believe that Artificial Intelligence will change how humans view themselves. While artificial intelligence sounds very cool and exciting, in a way it is actually pretty damn scary. I believe that artificial intelligence can be a huge help to humans to further our progress in science and technology, however having like a robot be super smart can be pretty terrifying. If artificial intelligence were to be smarter than humans than there is that possibility that they can find a way to outlast. I know it sounds like that comes from a movie but its true. It reminds me a lot of Avengers: Age of Ultron, where Ultron just gets way too smart and basically takes over the whole world.
#3: Oh man, there are countless future technologies that will change human behavior. We can already see a huge change in human behavior just within the past decade or so. Every kid has an ipad or tablet to play on and they no longer go outside to play with their friends. But as for future technologies there is some pretty crazy stuff. Driverless cars can be huge game changer, there's also this whole microchip thing where you can basically have all your bank info and card numbers put in a chip in your arm and then just use that. People's behaviors have changed and will continue to change for a very long time due to technology. It's a good time to be the owner of a technology company for sure.

Week #7: 98776888
Question 1: Are you more attracted to soul theory or neural theory?
I am more attached to the neural theory. The reason why I am attached to the neural theory is because it relies on actual physical evidence. The soul theory relied simply on metaphysical phenomena, which is something that we cannot necessarily comprehend or explain in an adequate manner. With the neural theory, we can physically look at neurons and brain productivity. By being able to do this, we can then explain and accurately understand differing aspect because we have solid and physical proof.
Question 2: Do you think artificial intelligence will transform how humans view themselves?
I definitely believe that artificial intelligence will transform the way in which humans view themselves. I believe this to be true because it will give human beings an opportunity to see a almost identical reflection of ourselves instilled within an aspect that is something less or greater than human beings. If artificial intelligence were to reach a point to where it can become self-aware, which it might in the near future, I strongly feel that humans will begin to see where we have gone wrong because chances are that artificial intelligence will surpass human intelligence.
Question 3: What future technological device will change human behavior in the future?
There are many technological devices that have the power the change human behavior in the future. Of them all, one of them is obviously the cellphone. Cellphones have already become such an integrated part of our everyday lives. There are even some people who cannot leave their homes without it without feeling some degree of anxiety. If our cellphones have this much of a hold on our lives, who knows how much worst it will be in the years to come.

Week 7 Question 1
Are you more attracted to soul theory or neural theory?
In terms of attraction, I would say I am more attracted to soul theory, that is that there is something beyond us that impacts who we claim we are, something that differentiates us from our neighbors on this planet, and perhaps my own belief is simply my minds way of convincing me to feel a sense of purpose in my life, and very likely neural theory-the idea that all we are, think, believe, sense, and claim to be our selves and personalities are all made up in our minds, is very well true.
I understand why people such as Patricia Churchland are attracted to Neural theory-it’s because it makes sense, and I do not claim to displace her logic. Neural Theory makes sense because when we sleep, our consciousness does in fact disappear, all our personality, free will, and self is sucked away by the limitations of our physical and neural matter. Neural Theory seems further proven because with today’s technology we can in fact trace each thought or choice to a spot within our minds, in fact even spiritual experiences can be traced to being simply a different state of consciousness, that access different parts of our brains and neurons than we usually access.
But I am attracted to soul theory nonetheless because for some reason it seems we are the only animals capable of accessing some different sort of consciousness than the one we regularly dwell in, and allowing that separate state of consciousness to interact with and alter our current “reality.” For me soul theory isn’t the belief that our souls are separate from our minds, because it is obvious that it is not, but rather that there must be some “spirit theory” something that if it is not extra physical, is some form of matter that is not within our own bodies, that impacts our states of consciousness.
Above the human capability to think consciously, we have been given the chance to have a sliver of a choice within our lives, and little as it, I feel that the choices we make can be left to our biologically inclined sense, or can be led by us forcing ourselves to think in another mindset, with another consciousness. In example, any other omnivorous animal able to survive off of vegetables and grains, but given meat, would not have the capability to choose not to eat the meat. Animals are entirely an outcome of their biology and environment shaping them into the creature they are. And although humans are largely similar, and often are entirely animalistic in following their instinct, we have the chance to change the game, as if we walk into a game of chess after the 16th move, we can turn things around, or we can allow the pieces we have been given define us.
That, choice, if governed solely by physical factors would result in us reacting entirely according to our instinct, but the human capability for prayer, meditation, and self reflective thought allow us to think with other consciousness, and allow us often to be impacted by things outside of our own minds. People receiving those Eureka moments, or people who, after self reflection, gain a new understanding about ourselves and the worlds, or any other consciousness that impacts how we think in our current reality mean that we as a species are capable of allowing our physical minds to be impacted by things outside of our bodies. Whether those out of body influences are spiritual or not is not for me to say, and in fact the very definition of what a spirit is or whether or not it exists, and if it does, in what form of matter, is something unknowable.
Week 7 Question 2
Do you think artificial intelligence will transform how humans view themselves?
Artificial intelligence in the sense of technology that can prove itself to other humans to be intelligent, rather than technology that actually possesses human capability for reasoning could definitely alter how humans think of themselves. OF course it is possible that humans blindly follow along technology as we do today, believing that all technology is better for our lives than no technology. However it is also likely that technological advancement will reach a point if it moves quickly enough that might shock people to think about what a type of species we have become. This advancement may result in one of two outcomes. The first is that people may simply accept it, and allow such an advanced technology to take its place in our lives. This is happening already with automated systems that answer our phones or even with some cases like Starbuck and Chipotle, taking and processing our food orders. We may allow this new AI to help us in our lives and if it becomes incredibly advanced we may come to depend on it as we depend on phones and laptops today. However this is dangerous, not because of the technology itself, but because of the mindset of those who own and distribute and sell the technology, in that our dependence on a product may allow them to manipulate and shape us as a people. The other thing that could occur, the one less likely, is that we may realize how we as a people have become dependent on technology, and therefore resist such dependence on a technology as advanced as AI. We may realize how obtaining such technology may make our day to day lives easier, with less hassle involved in looking up information, ordering food, processing business transactions, or vacuuming our floors, however it does not make our overall quality of life higher. We do not gain more happiness in the long run because we got our order of food or beverage 10 seconds faster, we do not become people more joyful because we did not have to talk to anyone at the dinner table, on the subway, or in line for coffee, and we do not live life fuller because we do not have to visit our friend when we miss them or talk to someone when we have problems.
Artificial intelligence may be an incredible asset in terms of technology, if used without an overwhelming dependence as humans seem to have on technology, and it can either drive us to a greater dependence on a product or technology that doesn’t really heighten our quality of life, or it may allow us to resist dependence on such technology, and learn to live our lives for the things that matter more.
Week 7 Question 3
What future technological devices will change human behavior in the future?
Previously we as a people learned to survive through master the traits needed in survival, and advancing them. We learned how to grow and harvest food, make our own soaps, candles, and clothes, and knew how to put together and take apart our own weapons and tools. Then as technology boomed, one person could learn the technology needed to make 90 shoes in the time it took someone else to make one, and so people became greater masters at one thing, and only generally knowledgeable in other things, trading what they mastered at making to find what they did not know how to make. So the
goal of life then was not to be good at survival, but rather a master of one craft to obtain all you needed for survival. Today other countries make our shoes, clothes, furniture, weapons, candles, and massive corporate companies in other states or cities make our food, beverages, and daily goods, we have become more and more dependant and less and less capable. Now the majority of people are not a master of a one craft, shoemaking, candle making, farming, not the master of a one technology, but we learn how to obey the authority who buys the technology and uses it to create the goods that we are then paid to buy. Perhaps more in America than in other nations, but we are stuck in the world of consumerism, and technology is slave to the same system. It is not technology itself that is bad, but the purpose and direction it is given by those who buy or seek to advance it.
Now we live more and more for working for such corporations, which pay us the same amount of money to use technology they create, to build products at a higher and higher price for us to use our paychecks to buy. Our goal in life is still to survive with the highest quality of life possible-yet we are stuck in a system that doesn’t value the capability to do well at anything required to survive, but rather we are vales for how much money we can make for someone else, and how much money we can make to buy products made y someone else, which in turn gives us less and less time to spend on the things that really make us happy or raise our quality of life.
Furthermore, technology gives us so much ready access to knowledge that we feel a lack of a need to store that knowledge up ourselves, or to learn it at all. So we become less and less knowledgeable, less and less capable of survival, and more and more dependent upon a system that drives us to work and buy and work and buy and work and buy products that we cannot afford to make and are not making sustainably for the planet we live on, further lowering our quality of life, that is going against the very first goal we had as a species.
Technology nowadays is slave to that same system we are. But a great advance in technology may override or prove this system to be inefficient at fulfilling our ultimate goal. This system uses technology to make more money, with the idea that money=a higher quality of life. I cannot completely disclaim the tie between having a good level of income and a high quality of life, but what we really need isn’t money, but enough of the things money can buy to allow us to live our lives comfortably with people and purposes that matter. Today we lack a capability to see what kind of a lacking lifestyle we lead, because we are stuck in this system using technology for the goal of the system (to gain money), rather than for the goal of human kind (to live well and with a high quality life)
Technology could be used for so many positive things, environmental gains, scientific advancement, greater learning, and ultimately, a higher quality of life, yet it is stuck in a system that often represses the positives of technology in order for gains in income not for the common people, but the people in charge. That is, instead of technology being created to better our lives, technology is created to allow more monetary gains for the people who are already rich. Technology that could lower greenhouse gasses, create clean energy, cleaner, better foods, or more efficient eco systems are not applauded and used, rather technologies that can drill deeper for oil, spray more pesticides per seconds, create more shoes in a bigger factory in less time, and kill more organisms per ounce are applauded and used in great masses.
So in the past, as technology advanced, people did not at first view themselves differently, but rather viewed themselves less, care less about actually living or being, but focused on using the technology to gain more money, to live what they think will be a higher quality life. In the future, Technology could go down the same path, until a tipping point is reached, and people, the earth, the technology, or the system itself is found to be unable to sustain such a goal. Or technology could open up people’s capability to view the true goals of life that is not to be stuck in our own virtually simulated goals of a higher income, but in the reality that to live a high quality life requires high quality effort put into the right directions. Effort made into relationships, passions, and into living a healthful life. Technology could allow people to see the possibility of such a life without losing much of what they have today, and cause a shift in their behavior in the future. This advancement could take form in anything from a system that allows us to see a representation of history that results in learning lessons from our past, or in technology that shows that higher quality of life can be obtained without hurting other people or our planet, or in technology that shows us that a high quality of life is not replaceable with monetary value or goods.

Test 6 (Week 7) Question 1: It is a tough question to ask whether I lean toward soul or neural theory. For me I don't believe the soul lies within your body as others may. The argument that neural theory says that because your whole being lies within your brain negates the concept of a soul seems a bit crude. I lean toward neural theory because it makes sense that when you alter a persons brain you can very well alter who that person is. However there is a certain part of many of us that would like to believe there is a piece of us that live beyond our body and that our consciousness can separate from that. Question 2: I think artificial intelligence could eventually change how some people view themselves however there are many who recognize that artificial intelligence is told what to think. One could argue that we are the exact same way being brought up in a society that bombards us with different knowledge through our whole lives. If there come a day when artificial intelligence can interact with us at a human level of understanding or mutual conversations people may drastically change the way that they view themselves. People may think of how they have been taught what to think from the day they were born. Question 3: I believe Technology has already begun to change human behavior. Kids who grow up with iPad and smart phones are already accustomed to a different lifestyle than the generations before them. Human interaction has become very dependent on these devices and often determines when, or where a person might go to eat. People used to just venture into small mom and pop restaurants to experience it and determine how they liked it where as today most people would look on yelp for a new restaurant to try. Granted there is still people check out these small restaurants but it is very apparent that we depend on our smart phones for many of the decisions we make or routs we take. sites.google.com/site/anthonymorenoblogger/test-posts
